I found this coin in with a hoard of wheat coins. I can't read the date and it apears to be misaligned and has a weak strike There are streaks across the date area and the letters on reverse side. You can feel & see the groves. If I were to send this out for grading .. What should I call it and what date? I think I can make out 1925 s Comments welcome
It's not worn because the groves are visable and the you can fell the ridges in the groves... but thanks for your input
I agree the picture doesn't give the coin justice... The groves are below the face on both sides, going in one direction from left to right to the edges The Letters for "liberty" seems ok but United states letters dosent look like it was a good stamp. On the back the groves are thru the letters and are prominate on the lower C, E & "O N E" letters. If you look closer you can see them on the back better As stated i can feel & see the groves I will try to rescan and get a better image if I can. I also have another penny with Lincoln's chin really exposed where you can feel the whole bottom of the chin with your nail.it is raised that far . I will repost with both of them later
You can re-scan if you like but I don't think you'll get anything better than that. That is a well worn coin.
WELL THANKS FOR THAT INPUT. I will take this coin to a dealer and get an evaluation from someone that can see the coin in person to determine the condition. And once again this is not a worn down coin
