I was wondering if anyone could help me with this 1922 Lincoln Cent. My dad gave me 3 of these coins. I found a website that explained there were 4 dies for the 1922. I guess which die dertermines the week or no D. I also know there are fakes out there. I have seen a few fakes on the internet and I honestly can't see any evidence of a D removed, but I'm so new at this that doesn't mean much. If anyone can lend me their expertise on this coin I would appreciate it. Also, if you could let me know of another website to learn from, that would be great. Thanks so much all!

Thanks for the input. Even under magnification I can't tell so I'll put this one aside for now. Thanks again!

Now that I have had chance to look at it, it is a fake. not die #1 - no die crack to the O. Not die #2 - "IN GOD WE" is way too strong. Not die #3 - "E PLURIBUS" is too strong and not die #4 - the bust is not against the rim.

So the year is faked? Or is it just a regular 1922 D? Just curious how they would fake a year. Thanks!

By fake I mean that they have removed the "D" from a 1922-D.
