Just want to know if this is a good deal or bad deal for these coins?????1878,80,81,82,83,84,85,91 CC Morgan Silver Dollar (GSA) for 4800.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/1878-80-81-82-8...46?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item43a57cd746
I think that would be high and the fact that there is no returns, the pictures arent clear only shows the reverses of 2 Morgans makes me wonder what he is hiding. Welcome to the forum
Given this is your first post on this forum in conjunction with your chosen username, I would be more inclined to buy the coins rather than tell you it was a good deal. I will not be buying them. Good luck!
Assuming that they would all grade MS64, his opening bid is about actual retail with about a $500 premium for all of them being GSA's. If they all were to grade MS63, then his opening bid is about $1500 too much. It's hard to assess the condition of any of them since he took the photos at an angle which has a tendency to hide flaws. I'm not suggesting he did this intentionally. He may have been trying to avoid glare from the cases. If you're interested, ask him to provide better photos of just the coins (enlarged with the case cropped out) from directly overhead. Since he has no bids, you might be able to offer him somewhere in the range of $3000-$4000 depending on the condition. Chris
the seller Replied to my message and gave me a link http://s1143.photobucket.com/albums/n637/it_better_be_real/ the pics look good from what i can tell. hhhuuuumm i'll wait and see how thins go got ten days to think on spending that kinda cash for a semi complete set.
The problem with waiting is that someone who has more money than "cents" may place a bid. If that happens, then you lose any chance of getting them for less. Chris Edited to add: I just took a look at the photos on Photobucket, and they are insufficient to judge the condition of the coins. He needs to provide photos of the entire obverse & reverse of each coin.
Chances are they will grade out at about MS-63 , You could do a lot better somewhere else . Remember on ebay you don't always get what you pay for . rzage
You got a point on that. WE Will see if i ask him to post full pics of obvere and reverse. "The problem with waiting is that someone who has more money than "cents" may place a bid. If that happens, then you lose any chance of getting them for less."
just checked the listing the price was lowered 4600.00 start and 5800.00 buy it now... and it's 6 day listing .... wonder if the price will change again????
date to that listing i was hoping to see if he was going to lower the price and soneone has bidded on it..... Now it's a waiting game to see who will pay more?????
That seems quite high for the GSA CC's. I've seen those at local shows with a $350 - $400 price tag on them, so 8 would be $2800 - $3200.
yea i thought it was high. i wonder why the seller is listing all the issues with the coins. Clashes breaks and other things. coins are coins to me. i don't need coins with all those clashes breaks and all that jazz. i'm new to collecting so it is what it is. i'll look for something in my price range. :rollling:
If you read his only negative feedback over shipping being free or not, you can see why he disclosed everything about these coins.
yep i looked at his feedback and most or all of it was good "item as described great seller" and i even looked at the negative feedback listed... it looks like the buyer was tryen to get something shipped for free or he made an error on the listing. oh well his problem not mine. i read the listing to try to figure out what he was sayen by SELLERS BEWARE... Not my problem anymore i'm moving on to the next item for sale on E-bay... something cheep in my price range....
