2 coins my Grandpa gave me that he picked up while serving in WWII - they seem rare

The first one I have I think I identified: http://www.cgb.fr/monnaies/vso/v11/fr/monnaiesf0ed.html

Does anyone have any information about it or what it might be worth? It looks like he got an offer of around $300.

The other one is sort of a coin/medallion type thing since it has a little loop. I can't find it on the internet, but I've found other ones that look sort of like it.

The front it says "wilhelm II deutscher kaiser konig v. preussen" which means "German Emperor Wilhelm II, King of Prussia" and it looks to be a picture of the emperor himself and on the back it says fahnenweihe then under ehemaliger then under 65er then under aachen then under 1896. So fahnenweihe ehemaliger 65er aachen 1896.

    Any ideas?

    Pictures will help.

About the 2nd. the "fahnenweihe" means something like "blessing of the flag". A parade, usually celebrated in Bavaria.

Those sound like quite a cut above the usual war souvenirs. I don't know their value, but thalers and medals from that time period are not as expensive as you might expect.

I've never seen that first one and I don't know what the second one is. Sorry! But I really do like that first one a lot!

I'll try to get some photos I just don't have a camera to use. I think the coin pictured on that external link that I have is from 1715.
