    i like dutch coins, generally they are very innovative in their designs.

    I'm also a fan of dutch silver. The 2 1/2 Gulden denomination seems like a very strange one - any idea what that would have been in US$ around 1944?

    Thats a beaut, RaceBannon! I have probably 2 dozen coins from the Netherlands as well as the Netherlands East Indies and Antilles. Some of my favorites :)

    Cannot answer that question, but for me the 2 1/2 G coin is somewhat strange too. Then again, in NL they used to have an entire range of such "quarter" coins and notes: 2.5 cent, 25 cent, 2.5 gulden, 25 gulden, 250 gulden ...

    There very nice silver & copper coinage from that area.I to have been picking up a few coins from that area but mainly the Netherlands
