1998 penny mis-strike?

    I found this in a roll today. What do you guys think this is? Is it just worn in a circle pattern, or is it something else? The coin seems to be in great condition so its weird.

    Looks like someone sanded both sides. Why, I can't even imagine why theydid.

    Any sanding of a 1998 cent would remove the VERY thin copper plating and expose the zinc below long before it would remove the last two digits of the date.

    It's not sanded, the die was plugged with either grease or some other substance. I found these 3 in a mint sewn bag of 1995p. Looks like they came from 3 different dies as the reverse has a different die crack on each one.

    That's common on modern cents, nothing special and not an error.

    We have also found a 1998 mistruck? We have one that looks wxactly the same? No good?
