Hi, I wasn't sure where to post this, but here it goes. I was just wondering what are some of the big coin magazines that are out there. I only know of The Numismatist. I tried a google search which turned up a bunch of random things, but I'm looking for more of a simple list of ones you all like. Thanks!
Both Coin World and Numismatic News are good for keeping one apprised of current events in numismatics and do offer the occasional relfections into the past. You have to realize that these publications, like most others, are able to continue because the advertisers pay the bulk of the expenses, so you will find 10 pages of advertising for every article. If you purchase a full subscription to Coin World, you also receive the monthly Coin Values magazine. In these issues, there is not as much advertising, and it has price guides (much like the Red Book) for all denominations and types of US coins. But, the best feature of CV is that each issue will devote a column to grading a specific coin type. One month it may be Indian Head Cents, and the next month may be Morgan Dollars. Chris
