I was just wanting to know if anyone has ever gotten or seen a New Hampshire quarter without the mint mark?
My husband received one in change when they came out (circulated), and when I called the mint, they told me that they had not heard of this.
If anyone has any information, it would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance,
    pnut

What you have is a filled die. Look under the FAQ section for the detailed info.

Could be a filled die error. Can you post a picture?

    Yes...I have one too :D
To me it looks like a filled die....I don't know if yours looks like mine or not but anyway.
Are some of the words worn off too??
I would say that the mint is almost always the last one to know about some sort of bad die or anything else for that matter.
One guy I asked said it might have been caught in a pop machine and the wheels ground off the mint marks--but I don't think so.

    Hope this helps.....

I have no way of posting a picture, Im really not computer literate. I can check and send emails, and get to this forum as far as all else..... Im in the dark, and I guess I have no equipment to post a picture as well.

    For the words...
Well they seem to be in regular shape?

Question: If the cause of the missing mintmark is indeed a filled die, is it worth anything? If not, then are the "no-s" coins from certain proof sets the result of filled dies, or were the mintmarks just left off?? Also, I thought the 1922-Plain Lincoln was the result of a filled die, or is it something else?

The 1922 no "D" was a result of the "D" being polished off.
The no "S" coins never got the "S" put onto the die.

Filled dies do not bring a premium. This is such a common occurrence. If you go through about ten rolls, your odds of finding one or more are really good.
