Hello, I need a really good magnifying glass/instrument that zooms in that is perfect for looking at small details on coins and double die errors. Can anyone recommend me a good one online? I want to get one. And how much do they cost? Is it a lot?
I use a VEHO- 001 USB digital microscope, you can view close ups of your coin on your PC screen. I got it on Amazon about 18 months back works for me.
Dave do you know if that will work with Window's 7? I am in the process of purchasing it but before I do I need toknow if it will work with my system. I know it states that it will work iwth Windows XP/Vista 32/64 and Mac but I am thinking it MAY work with W7.
Yes it works with W7 and Vista and XP, I think there are some problems with some browsers like Firefox but you can download the drivers for free from Downloads.com
What is the optical resolution and lighting like with it? I have a professional grade binocular microscope from B&L but of course cannot take pictures with it. I was looking for something to easily take some pics, but was concerned about the optics.
No computer required. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002FNQ1PS...e=asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B002FNQ1PS These last forever, I have had mine for 25+ years. Highly recommended.
Mine is more like: http://www.amazon.com/BARSKA-Binocu...0R2S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1299600769&sr=8-4 but loupes are great too. Don't help a ton for imaging though.
Here`s the the "V" of VDB on a Lincoln Wheat Cent, bear in mind that "V" fills the whole screen of my wide screen monitor. Although I`ve never used it there is a facility for filming a close up and putting it on video. The problem with a Loupe is you can`r send what you see to someone else
That is what I use and I take photo through one ocular with my canon a590-IS on macro ( albeit with a study hand) Example. Jim
