I have a 2005 West Virgina quarter. The rim on the top of the reverse side is smooth and the state name is really hard to see. Is this a Error or did it happen post mint?
P.S. I'm new at Error coin collecting and i have so much to learn. So please forgive me if i ask alot of questions and post lots of pictures
I say it is PMD. It is very unlikely that half of the die will deteriorate while the other half does not at the same pace.
I also don't know that much about error coins, but this looks post mint to me also. And by the way Anjee... welcome to CoinTalk!
Thank you... I look forward to learning alot from this site. I have a few more coins i'm going to post as soon as i charge my camera. Thanks again!!!!
Yea sorry Anjee, definitively Post mint the only thing that makes me think otherwise is the lack of tooling marks and the copper layer is not showing through the nickel. Any change you can take a high resolution picture?
i have to wait for my camera's batteries to charge up. I took these pics with my phone. but i will try to do better pics in the future. TTFN
What's the other side of the coin look like. If you can post a pic of it. By the way your pics are prety good for a phone, they are plenty big enough, maybe need a little more light. By the way, welcome!
new pics front and back so finally got my digital camra charged up so here is better pics ( i think )
