That is a real error. It looks like a form of brockage.

Search "brockage" in Google Images. All sorts of coins with a brockage effect come up, from ancients to moderns. Some even look similar to that in the eBay auction.

I knew about the brockage, but I thought it was a magician coin with two reverses!

Struck through a mid stage capped die.

I just bought a NGC slabbed no date lincoln memorial cent, no obverse, struck thru, reverse perfect. Don't know why I bought it, perhaps the "cool" factor. It looks much like the OP's.

I do think it's kind of neat, and would like to own one, but $450 seems a little steep. With 262 views, and no buyers, I'd say a lot of other people feel the same way.

I agree with you, it is a capped die indeed.
Thecoinlover, a capped die is caused by a coin sticking to the striking die during the minting process. When coins are minted, the planchet rests on one die while the other strikes it. When a coin gets stuck to the upper die it continues to strike other coins.

My guess would be that it came from a mint bag of 69-S Cents.

Yeah, my capped die cent stated on the 2x2 from the dealer that it was a 1993. As already said by jallengomez, it was most likely from a Mint bag.

$450?!?!? You would think it was struck on a golden panchlet!
I would pay $60 Tops beautiful coin though
I guess value is in the eye of the beholder
