    Hello,
I want to know if any of you have bought silver from apmex and what you think about
them. I read alot of bad reviews, and if they are really bad, then I would like to know what
other places are good to buy silver.

I've never had a problem with them. Everything I have bought from them was shipped quickly and packaged well. My only complaint would be that their shipping charges are a bit high.

I'm not familiar with any Customer Service issue with them, but I'm certain they have had their share as any major company has. Each transaction stands or falls independently . They are a well established company , with competitive prices . I would not hesitate to do business again with them . I do agree , S & H is a bit high .

I have used for several year but will never use them again. They lost me as a customer with the inflated secondary market prices they wanted for the 5oz versions of the National Park Quarters.

Look at the reviews of people that bought the 5 oz ATB from APMEX on their website. They are ALL very happy with their purchase and believe they got a good deal. APMEX has been very professional in all the dealings I've had with them (around 10).

I ordered some Mexican silver coins from them and they are tops, that said they charge a massive amount for postage. I think it's like $12.95 per order or in my case it was 2ozs.

Shipping is high, but I think that is a set rate. They want to deal in larger orders. That being said, they should have other postage options for smaller orders, but hey, that's the way they do it and they do a great job IMO.

Personally, anyone who purchased them period , bought at well over-inflated prices . Not just through AMPEX .

Yeah, that's what restricts my transactions with them. I guess if your buying 20 pieces or better , than it's not to bad.

Yep, problem is when it comes to Mexican bullion they are top notch so I will most likely use them again. :D

I read a lot of bad but all of my experiences were good. Hey, I worked service industry most of my early adult life and, unfortunately, as hard as we try, not every transaction works out. Even though the last 99 customers were happy this one left upset and I am sure he is going to tell everyone he knows. That's what happens. Apmex postage is high if you have a small order, that is something we just have to deal with and take into account when making a purchase. Sheesh, if I remember correctly there was a time a few years back they stopped taking small orders because of demand. Good for them.

I agree. You can satisfy some of the people some of the time and all of the people , none of the time. But to be fair, even with the current S & H charges , they ( AMPEX ) are still very competitive with their over-all pricing .

No complaints here. I even did an exchange once. The only problem I ever had and it actually worked out is they changed an order from USPS to UPS because of the size (I ordered a bunch of supplies), saved me a trip to the post office though.

Last month I bought 5 x 5 oz APMEX bars. They charged $19.95 S&H. Without shipping it cost $29.83/oz with shipping it cost $31.52/oz. It's the price you pay if you want it without going out shopping for a deal.

Awhile back many ppl were backhanding Apmex verbally for that krap that went on with the big 5 ATB but there were many companies involved with that fiasco and it simply got blown out of the $$$ ballpark!!! The blame should go to the US Mint for their incompetence in distribution and their inability to figure out what the majority of coin collectors really want. Surely can't blame one company b/c you wanted something and couldn't "have it your way". :D JMHO

The bottom line is Apmex really does have decent silver prices, just look around. ;)

I have bought silver from APMEX in the past but that was a long time ago back in early 2008. I have never had any problems with APMEX during the time that I was buying silver from them. APMEX is a top online bullion dealer IMO.

With that said, if there is a local coin dealer near you, then I would check them out and see what type of prices they can offer you. Even though you will not pay shipping charges if you buy from a local dealer, you have to take into consideration any sales tax if you live in a state that has a sales tax.

I have bought silver coins, gold etc from apmex a number of times without a problem.Yes their shipping is high end so I pay by check to get the lowest rate.(about 12.00)The only issue is that I have to wait for the check to clear but thats ok.
Another thing to consider is that quite a few other bullion dealers require you to buy thousands of dollars at a time.Apmex does not.So apmex is the first place I look when buying gold or silver.

APMEX has fair prices for silver bullion. They do so much bulk business, I find their bid/ask spread to be less than any of my local coin dealers can do. Their shipping prices are a little steep especially for individual coins or lots of 5 or less, but you can get a better deal on the shipping charges from them by purchasing large quantities. Also your cost per coin goes down in increments as you buy more.

APMEX is outstanding. I have never had a problem with them. For those of you out there that don't like the shipping charges go and try shipping something with insurance and see what you pay. I just shipped a package to APMEX and with insurance ($6000) it cost me $38 to ship the package. Remember that when you complain about shipping cost when you buy something online or Ebay.
