Went to two casinos yesterday and asked for 100 dollars in quarters at each one and neither would give them up. They asked if I were going to play them all at their casino and I said maybe, they said they would be watching then said actually sorry we dont believe you.

Next one I went to said get lost coin collector no one now days asks for that many coins if they are here to gamble our slots take bills.

Im running out of areas to get coins

I don't like casinos anyway. I swear either the casinos or the older folks that frequent the casinos pull everything out that's worth having. My local bank deals with the nearest casino, and it ruins the searching.

I have some luck finding silver in Reno ... Never roll searching always at a specific off strip casino... I've tried roll searching ... But with zero luck... Easy to get rid of half dollars tho which is nice

So when is the last time you were in a casino? Slot machines have not used coins for at least five years in most major casinos.

Yeah, I have to use bills then it prints vouchers... coins would be a cool site to see.

No they wouldn't. They were extraordinarily loud and disgustingly dirty. We will never return to coin operated slot machines. But feel free to reminisce if it makes you feel good.:p

LMFAO, well that explains why you would want to see one. Trust me, the noise drives you crazy after about 5 minutes. You didn't miss anything, and I have hearing problems.

Go to virgina city or a Carson city you can still find coin op machines... There's even a machine that's in virgina city that pays out in old US silver peace and Morgan dollars...

Cal Neva in Reno had three of these machines, but I haven't been back there since 2006. Besides, they had just about depleted their supply of Morgan and Peace dollars in two of them and had been replenishing with SAE's.

It has been much, much longer for me since I was in either Carson City or Virginia City, but I do recall that the Silver Queen in Virginia City had some. They're probably gone by now.

As you mentioned, the worst part to me is that your hands will turn black within minutes of taking coins out of the hopper. Give me the "Ticket In/Ticket Out" technology any day. I understand that now some of the casinos have machines that will allow you to use your credit/debit card. I don't know which ones or in what jurisdictions, though.

My son works at a casino in Tulsa and all the slot machines are card operated. Another opertunity lost for me.
Question: How can I get coins shipped cheaply from the West coast to here in NY? Has any tried the fixed rate boxes? They are not supposed to be used for coins but......

If you mean the Priority Flat Rate or Express Flat Rate boxes, I use the Priority all of the time with no problems. Who says you're not supposed to use them?

It is printed right on the boxes.

Then it is not a USPS shipping box. I just checked my supply of both Priority and Express boxes, and it says nothing of the kind on it.
