I agree it's a little dumb to tell everyone you have that much silver in one's home, but one should never live in fear to own silver and keep it in ones home...
It's a damn shame, and like I said before I hope they get 50 to life for such a violent robbery and no one should pass blame on to the victim - NEVER - EVER!!! even if he could not keep his mouth shut!

 

Do those really work that well?
And where do you get a a chip like that? I'd like to put that on my laptop.

 

Hey, not everyone can or should attempt to stand against a home invader. But, I will say that from my personal combat experience in Nam, I might as well fight no matter what. I will be pumping so hard with adreneline that my heart is gonna quit anyway. For some of us, it's a no lose situation. Might as well charge an armed invader empty handed because the outcome is likely the same no matter what. Heck, I might even get just a bit lucky and take someone with me ? And isn't the whole point to make taking your life as costly as it can be ? Sorry guys, I ain't gonna roll over. Not sayin' I'm gonna win, but maybe, just maybe, I get me one of them ? I would rather go down tryin.

I truely believe that keeping your mouth shut is still your best defense, and that does not mean you are living in fear. i have a neighbor who bragged about all the neat things they had just boughten, right before they went on a family vacation for a week. Well, the wrong person heard all that wonderful news. They broke into their house while they were living it up. Stole all their new goodies as well as the guns protecting it all.

 

And you're such a good marksman that, while you're traveling with your concealed weapon, you can pick off burglars who are cleaning out your house? Wow!

I have to agree with you. In today's society, everyone is equal and the only people that get ahead do it by luck and privilege! If someone has something I want, I have every right to take it from them...the dirty bastids! :heated:

I gotta agree, dogs are part of the essential three tiered security system that I'd have if I were storing that much bullion at home.

In this case, it might still not have prevented the theft, but they'd have had to work a little harder. The right dog would certainly give the bad guys a reason for pause/self doubt, which could buy you time.

First and best defense though is still to keep your mouth shut about your hoard.

 

I totally agree. I don't have very much worth stealing, but I would rather be safe than sorry.

Lets try to keep the "protection" discussion civil. People can own firearms in most localities for person protection, and if that is the case for posters, keep what you would do to yourself, no need to post photos of guns, angry dogs, or ugly relatives to back your point.
