Got these from an ATM recently. All in the same transaction. Tried another withdrawal, but, alas, there were no more.

Wow, what a lucky ATM! I always have the fear/excitement that when i withdraw money from an ATM that will happen. i know i'd do exactly what you did, withdraw more money.

Please forgive me for asking....what is so "wow" about these bills? Is it because of the issuing year or the SN's?

    Sorry :( lol

pretty much just their condition for age and he got them for face value. Pretty uncommon these days.

    I wonder if these came from a collection. You have series 1934 A, 1934 B and 1934 D there.

Note how "The Federal Reserve Bank of New York New York" became "Federal Reserve Bank of New York New York" in going from 1934 A to 1934 B.

I didn't notice that "The" was dropped. Any significance in that?

Age - Very nice find! Someone probably inherited them and took them to a dealer who offered $20 ea.

I wish I knew. It seems strange that they went to that effort in the tail end of of WWII. Fred Vinson took office 23 July 1945.
