Hi, Because I am new, I am only testing a random penny I selected to scan. It bears no weight on what I chose ot post, just picked one from my bunch in front of me.

    I hope I did this scan/upload thing right..... scan0002.jpg

....OK I think I did this correct...

    Woo Hoo ! ! !

(Also hope I choose right category for this...it technically doesn't fall under any other category that I was able to see? Apologies in advance if thread was placed wrongly.)

Good now that I know how to use my scanner and upload, any suggestions on how to scan a better pic?

Use your printer settings on your computer to change the resolution of the scan. Unless you want a very large file, keep the resolution only at 600 px per inch. This creates not only a good photo of your coin, but takes up small space as a file.

Here is an example by me using 600 px per inch resolution:

    It's fine ;)

But just so you know, there is a special section for posting test pics in the Support and Feedback section.

OK, so 600px is how I get a clear pic, so my dumb blonde question of the day is...how did you manage to get the same coin, (both sides) on the same pic?

I'm not computer illiterate, just photo/image retarded, (in its real sense...slow) lol

For some reason, my pics from a DSLR are 10x over the limit (really good pics), but when using a normal digital camera, it fits, but I can't get a good picture.

You have to re-size your pics so that this site will accept them. I think anything over 900 MB is rejected. Anything under that, and the site will automatically re-size them.

    Aso, make the pics jpg.'s.......

Oh sure, you could scan 'em into the computer. I think that's the best way to do it.

There are many threads to help you. Just use the "search" function.
