Are you saying you have a coin like the one in the picture?

The coin in that picture is a 1878 Morgan pattern goloid dollar, and it sold in 2003 for $11,500: 1878- morgan silver dollar.

If it's Genuine then that's prob. close.

I have seen counterfeits of these for a loooong time now tho...

    Got a pic?

Then get it slabbed if it's geniune and please dont hi-jack this thread. Go to Auction Listings if you want to sell it.

Heh. Somebody just listed an ICG PR60-details 1879 Goloid on eBay with a BIN of $1695. Why am I not tempted?

I have a counterfeit 1878 Goloid, I just keep it as a conversation piece. Kinda neat but the chances of the seller having a genuine pattern coin are highly unlikely, besides why would someone sell so cheap? Because, there's a sucker born every minute!! :D

how can you know if the goloid is real or fake. I have one that looks exactly like the picture here and plus is silver and you could tell is old as hell. Is there like a quick test i can perform on it?
