Here is a pretty neat (I think) medal which commemorates the War of 1812. The composition is Sterling .925 Silver. This thing is HUGE, over 1 1/2 inches in diameter and weighs over an ounce.

    Thanks for Looking

    That’s pretty cool.

The stone wall reference is a little weird. I had to go google the war of 1812 Jackson. I was thinking about the other Jackson.

Pretty recently, within the past 20 years for sure I'd imagine. The rim is marked "LONGINES SYMHONETTE STERLING".

The Longines Symphonette Silver Medals were struck in 1971, I believe.

I recently bought a group of 48 of them, below melt price. Some of them are quite artistic, while others seem to have been phone in. It's a shame that the reverse is so uninspired.

For metals like these, I would almost prefer a static image (ie; an elaborate eagle that repeats on all of the medals) rather than the block letter legends that these carry. The font isn't even pretty!
