At today's silver value even a dented up common Morgan is worth around $23 or so in silver.

Hard for me to say for sure whether the VDB is uncirculated or not from your photo, but it does appear to have at least AU details from what I can see. However, more importantly, the color/toning doesn't appear natural to me. The brown color and even some of the rim toning might be natural and ok, but the bright pinkish colored spots at the upper obverse and lower reverse look like freshly uncovered copper as if someone had cleaned parts of the coin. When old copper looks more pinkish red than orange-copper red then it's usually a sign of it being messed with. In any event, I think the value of this coin in this condition is probably a little bit less than the value of the Morgan you traded, somewhere around $15 or so. Hopefully some others will chime in with their opinions.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get. From the sounds of it, it sounds like an ok trade, no one doubled their values - which is the way it should be. You got rid of a dented up Morgan and got a nice VDB in return

Here is a certifed 1909 VDB PCGS MS63BN that might be similar, that you can compare to.

And this is another 1909VDB but a grade higher PCGS MS64BN _ BOth these coins are uncircualated according to the grading service.

You should have cashed in the silver and used the money toward a nicer VDB. These are pretty cheap in red MS grades. I don't find your VDB attractive at all.

The toning looks like the start of corrosion to me. It's certainly close to MS though.
