Who knows what he is trying to say! He's probably been sniffing too much air over the La Brea Tar Pits.

I guess I'm trying to find out if anyone knows if this is a "real" ANACS slab or not ?

I was wondering the same thing, but I don't have my copy of Conder's book with me. Send Conder101 a PM and ask him, he'll know.

looks more like a self slab to me, I don't remember seeing TPG slabs with those slots in the edges. Plus, and I am not a big expert in Morgans, but it looks AU to me, it looks like wear above the ear and and the eagle's breast.

seller also says contact free when there are a few obvious marks, looks like she is wearing an eyebrow piercing.

I contacted ANACS and asked them about the coin. They looked at the Ebay listing and said they "thought" it was okay. They couldn't find the serial number but believe it is a "real old" ANACS slab and they don't have records that go back that far.

I'd stay clear of it , but is the coin even there or here , heck better go work out that E=MC2 equation.

Send a PM to Conder. He has pics of the oldest ANACS there are in his book.

He knows more about slabs than anybody on the planet !

    I sent Conder101 a message. I'll post his opinion.

If it is a real slab ANACs really graded coins leinlenty , I swear I see wear over the ears , the hair above that , the cheek , and the hair in the curls above the date , and the eagles breast . Could be the pics but I doubt it .

I'm not sure what this is. I wish he had shown the whole reverse so I could see what kind of hologram, it any, it has. The front label resembles the one used on the first ANACS slabs but the way the corners of the label are clipped, the shallow recess the label sits in, the fact the "groove" seperating the coin area from the label area, and the odd border of the slab that doesn't match any of the early slabs has me 98% convinced this is a recently holdered coin in a generic "safeslab" type shell and it has nothing to do with ANACS. Just a basement slabber with a pseudoANACS label. The font is close but doesn't quite match that used on the first two ANACS slab varieties. The serial numbers of those first two varieties began with two capital letters. This one does not.

That guy is off of his rocker!

I don't see where it says ANACS anywhere but I'm probably missing it. It does say ANA.

Here's a link to a site with the ANACS slab generations. It definitely just looks like a knockoff to me.

This seller had other items .. about 5 ... in the same type of holder. None of them showed the entire reverse. I contacted him and asked for a reverse photo but it never happened. Something just didn't sit well with me about these slabs. Even the folks at ANACS couldn't be sure .. that's a little scary. When I called them about it they put me on hold and I could hear them having a discussion about the items. One thing they said was , they thought the serial numbers all started with 2 letters , but these all started with just 1 .. the letter "N". Even so , they "thought" they "may" be okay. Not for me !!
