A local coin dealer in Connecticut told me that the lawsuit against the coin doctors was rejected by the court recently. I have not been able to find the news post. Any one have a reference to the news? Thanks.
Not true. It was dismissed by Federal Court and is continuing in state court. There's some big threads on it on the PCGS boards...
Yes, the case was dismissed in federal court with prejudice, but PCGS still has the option to file the case in state court. That was the last I had heard (that was in early January). I'm not sure if there has been any progress since then. The PCGS lawsuit against coin doctors was thrown out, so did their failure.... - Collectors Society Message Boards
There was also a suit by 2 of those named as coin doctors against PCGS for not returning their coins. There was another hearing scheduled in last Nov., but I have hard nothing. The coin newspapers are doing a very reasonable job, so if it is true, there should be an article soon.
Thanks for the thread. It mentions a 1/3 coin world article, and I turned there an it is a 6" article saying basically that the federal Lanham Act and the RICO act portion were dismissed with prejudice, but the state claims were just dismissed, so CU can refile that portion in state court. Jim
