He has been on ebay forever selling recolored Lincolns. The ignorant masses just keep buying them over and over and over. Then they give him 100% feedback. He now has over 10,000 feedbacks on his obviously colored coins. Are there really that many ignorant fools out there?

    http://shop.ebay.com/nancye913/m.html

Maybe I'm one...kind of...LOL. I bought one some years ago so that I could prove my point. The colorant can right off with acetone and xylene to reveal a harshly cleaned XF coin that was advertised as MS +++RICH BROWN++.

Sorry for my rant, but this guy has been out there ripping people off and ruining Lincolns by the thousands. It's hard to understand how he can just keep going and going. It is completely disgusting!!!!!

on the bright side, the first few coins description says:

"Looks like old cleaning that has regained a natural look."

    lol

Also, are you sure this isn't a lady? "NancyE913"

Yea, I bought one and it's a dude....one that I'd like to get removed from ebay and have him jailed for crimes against humanity.

I mean, it's a COMPLETE joke! Go look at what he's buying on ebay!!! For God's sake people....investigate your seller before you bid. He buys junk coins that are candidates for this nailpolish treatment, colors them and then resells. HOW edited OBVIOUS CAN SOMEONE BE??!!

    http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=nancye913&ftab=FeedbackAsBuyer

That statement you see on some of his coins are for ones that his nailpolish wouldn't stick to. I've seen him selling plenty in the past when I was keeping an eye on him that had an obviously botched recolor job. Nonetheless, the ignorant masses still buy them from him.....ARRRRRGGGGG.

Well, why not buy a few of the cheapest coins he has and neg rep him so he loses his 100% feedback?

Also, Thad, the masses are morons, you should know that by now.

I already did that....but I just bought one. I can't bring myself to give him any more money no matter how mad I am. At this point he has far to many feedbacks to let a few have negs have an impact anyway.....resistance is futile.....he wins, thousands of collectors lose.

How did I miss that one? Kudos to EyeEat!

RLM - You disappoint me in that thread man. I don't know how you could possibly defend that guy and then put me in a category of "Thad should go into business with him". Really?

    hamman88 Spare some change, sir?

I like where your head is at. Better yet, return them, then give neg feedback.

lol..... I thought I already covered that guy maybe it was a different forum, Aren't you on most of them? where were you? - I was getting beat up pretty bad. Everyone was telling me that there was nothing wrong.

Part of me was thinking if you can't beat them - join them. If was to use his photo methods in a listing, this $15 cherry pick would bring $500!

smokin abe got to seeing double!

Ya know.... I just got to thinking... I can hear everyone going, uh oh.... :)

this has to do with message boards. Everyone who is interested stand back and look at the big picture, not the details..

Here what happens. Someone posts a complaint.

People reply telling the poster he shouldn't complain, ie. you should have read the rules, you got a free coin, etc etc.

WHY IS IT LIKE THIS ON COIN BOARDS?

I have been deeply involved with 1/2 dozen different hobbies, this is the first one where I have seen adversarial picking on those who complain.

I asked why does it go on with that seller, Thad now asks why does it go on.. It goes on because no one steps up to do anything about it. WHY? Take a look at my Teletrade rant and you will see why. If TT Buyers worked together to get costs lowered they would lower the costs. If we want to do something about this Nancye person then every one needs to buy a coin and then neg the hey out of his account.

Is anyone going to lead a group to do that? Not me. WHY? There are too many who think what Nancye is doing is ok because his feedback says so.

AND THEN IT is backed up by ADMINISTRATION who calls me ignorant for not knowing that invoicing after each auction means that they will not combine invoices nor will they combine shipments and goes on to say that I should call when reading the terms if I don't understand them. lol.. Ah yep - then it goes further... I am told that I should apologize for what?

all the while, I kept shaking my head asking myself. Do these people really like checking out 3 times individually, do they like paying for 3 separate packages, do they like opening 3 packages. That they don't want it kept simple???

What I got out of that thread was that there are large amount of coin buyers who, rather than look at the coin, want to look at some little nick or ding and not see the coin for what it is.

So this is why nothing gets done to improve. It is the nature of a coin collector to not see the coin for all the tics and dings. THis is why the silly sniffer or Laser ID of coins is a decade behind the times. This is why computerized numerical grades are not assigned and this is why people say they oh never mind :)

I just know that someone is going to take a detail out of the post above and loose the point.

I leave with you this thought. I have been blocked by sellers who I have asked questions of and found out that the reason was because I have left negatives for sellers. I would be happy to list those sellers except someone will post what great guy they are and how I am screwed up. lol

LOL Eye! Yea, the injustice of it all is crazy really. I'm hear to tell you, IT IS NOT YOU.

This nancye guys 100% is a scammer and recoloring doctor. It's not Photoshop, his coins look just like the picture. When he can't make it look good, he angles the camera to hide the flaws of his recoloring effort. Anyone with one quarter of a brain should be able to figure out his scam. If you can't, then you shouldn't be buying coins online. If you come to his defense in ANY form or fashion, then you are company amongst him.

Anytime I see someone listing a whole bunch of Lincolns that all look the same, it tells me that one of two things is going on:

    1) The coins are being re-processed prior to selling - dipped, recolored, whizzed, whatever...
    2) The photos are being deliberately manipulated either as the photo is taken (lighting, etc.) or afterwards (Photoshop).

I pretty much stay away from these just because it's not worth the hassle of return, etc.

I guess it's now wrong to post an opinion of what could be possible? That's fine. Throw me under the bus as well. Won't be the first time I had tire marks on my back side. Most of this is based on images? How much of this is based on actually seeing the coins in hand? We know for sure the guy is doing some conservation work or it's a good bet based on images that have been posted. Leadfoot posted the only image, I saw, from a coin in hand. It looked nothing like the sellers images. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not coming to the sellers defense but will keep an open mind to what is possible till someone buys a few and shows us the facts that the guy is actually a "scammer and recoloring doctor".
The idea of buying a bunch of this guys coins just to neg him is just flat wrong. Buy them, get them in hand and make an informed decision from there. If he is a scammer, neg him. There is no way to know the truth from what has been posted to this point.

ld - I believe that it was determined that he does both PS and altering..

I bought one coin and swore never again. The problem is, that his stuff keeps coming up in the searches. What is most ridiculous - is his coins always look the same.

Grab hand full of circulated Lincolns and just look at them side by side. Thats all the proof anyone should need that there is obvious deceit going on with those coins in those listings.

This guy is a well oiled machine, he actually has my respect in that he has the eBay system down pat and because the amount of work he puts into what what I doubt is much more than maybe 5 bills a week. Now with that said, while what he is doing is fundamentally wrong, I believe he is meeting a market demand.

Now lets see who picks up on my opinion and misconstrues.
