go these today and love them both. the spanish coin is a 5 cinco 1870 and i have never seen one in this high a grade. as always opinions very much welcome. sorry for the bad pic. for some reason i have a real hard time photoing copper
Nice coins, especially the 25 centimes piece! Just a side note - "5 cinco" would be "5 five" in English. This is a 5 centimos coin. Above it says "200 pieces in one kilogram" - and that matches the "five grams" on the other side. Christian
love the 25 centime, coin, there is another variety from that time as well calum, both are as usual for french coins outstanding
it was really out of step with the definitive issues of the time but thats whats great about the french coins.
That's a beautiful 1903 25 centimes, I always liked that design. I have one myself but yours is much nicer. Great pickup!
20 pence, eh? Wow, that's quite a deal! I would be very pleased as well, it looks very nice indeed. I picked up mine from a 5x for a dollar bin, 20cents US each. I found both these early 20th century French ones in there. I always loved the design of the 1903 25 centimes, very beautiful, mine isn't too great and has a bit of a ding on the rim sadly. I also always liked the design used on the bronze 5 and 10 centimes, mine is a 1916 * . I was given this 1928 Portugal 1 Escudo from a man I took care of, my shots aren't very good of that coin, I took them quite a while ago. I much like this coin. I like your Spanish 1870 coin as well, nice one year type. I hope to get one someday myself. I have an 1870 2 Pesetas, but not all that great. Cool pickups, very impressive French 1903 25c. One of my friends specializes in 19th century Spanish coins, especially copper, he truly loves the 1870 Silver coin series, and has several amazing examples of the 5 Peseta, some very high grade. I have been dealing mostly with Ancients now, but I still have not lost my love for all the beautiful world coins out there, and I don't think I ever will....
