Found it on the 'bay. Was very poorly advertised, kind of stumbled upon it randomly lol. Any ideas on approx value?
In that condition, I think I would have gone up to $125. In higher grades, I've seen them at around $400-$500.
Well Duh ! on me. I guess iI couldn't see the tree from all the forest. That is one heck of a find. Good for you.
As far as what it's worth......error notes are a fickle breed. I just checked 3 pages of "completed" listings over on the bay, and I saw an uncirculated 1995 $1 sell for $46.00, and also an uncirculated 2006 $1 Star sell for $229.00. It's worth MORE than what you paid, for sure, it just depends on how much SOMEONE ELSE likes it. Hope this helps.
this is a nice find but if it was just a cutting error it would not be worth alot as many will buy a full sheet of notes and cut it them selfs making the errors but your note is more in the line of the two plates not lining up and will add to it price over 40% face value it is one to keep
I bought this error with a group of other Star notes. I consider it to be a minor alighment error.....but being a Star note makes it unusual.
