Hi Everyone Need some help on an item from America it is a JFK Kennedy Medallion Coin Ring Solid 14K Gold Composition: Solid 14K Yellow Gold Accent Material: Solid 14K Rose Gold Coin: JFK Presidential Token Coin Diameter: 12mm, Very Thin Ring Weight: 2.2 grams Rings Size: 7.5 Resizing Information Ring Face Measurements: 20x15mm Rise Above Finger: 4mm Band Width: 1mm Just wanting to know what it is worth or how I can go about finding this information out.
Since it is not a coin, possibly not even a token, your best bet would be to take it to a jeweler for an appraisal. It's unlikely that a token would be made that small. It was probably specifically designed for that ring. Chris PS. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Many thanks for your advice Chris. I was looking around and there doesn't seem to be a lot around. Maybe rare. But has been around for quite awhile in the family. Have a good nite Lorna
Well if the whole ring is 14K gold then it is worth at least melt. right now gold is 1394 an ouce. 14K gold is 58% gold. so take 58% of the price of gold * what your ring weighs and that is your base price. There are other rings like this floating around. it could be gold plated. http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/jfk-presidential-coin-ring-14k-gold-weston-jewelry this is the only other thing i could find on it. a big JFk collector might pay a small premium, but it is worth at least it's weight in gold.
Thanks mystery45. Will try anything at this point. Might see if a JFK collector would like to purchase it. It looks to nice to melt down so thanks again. Going to get it valuated. Cheers
