Ive been holding onto this for a little while. Its this worth anything? I not good wiht radar notes so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cool find! Too bad the teller stamp ran off the edge of the strap and hit the portrait. can you scan the note so we can see both sides and all margins?
Yes, too bad about the stamp but it still has value. Besides the stamp, does it look like it has been circulated or does it look like it just came out of a strap? Circulated will mean a value of much less than mentioned above. Uncirculated will drive the value up even with the stamp. IMO You might want to contact Jim at Tickle My Fancy to get an estimate of value.
Ill try and scan it now....not sure if this scanner works. I havnt use it in a long time. lets try........... give me about 15 mins
Also, when you scan, place a dark sheet of paper behind the note to help define the margins of the note. :thumb:
Ok here they are The only dark paper I could find was purple. Hope it worked well. Let me know what you guys think.
Yeah! Purple works great! The note looks pretty good too. Just a couple of corners that look rounded/soft and the teller stamp on the face, but overall, a very decent note with very good centering and SN! WTG!
You need to be the one to decide if you want to part with the note and where you are comfortable selling it. CT also has a classifieds section, fee free. Title might be nice with info like: Fr-2040C Philadelphia $10 Series 2006 Radar note Item description should mention the teller stamp on the face. The note was printed at Fort Worth. You might also call out the various face and back plate numbers. The pics look decent to list.
I know its had to put a market value on this but whats a realistic range for a serial number like this?
just start your auction at .99¢ to avoid various listing fees. you can run an 'Advanced Search' on eBay for completed auctions of other radar notes to get a sense of final auction prices realized. you can check sites like coolserialnumbers.com and see what a dealer of graded notes is charging.
