is this an unplated penny?

    i sell a few coins with obvious errors on ebay. i'm just not sure about unplated coins.

    It looks like it was heated with a torch....hard to tell from the pics.

    i take new pennies and heat them in a steel pan until they turn deep red to silver for the grandkids. they retain their shine and luster. this coin has me confused. thanks for the reply.
