Here's an ebay listing for those of you who love toned coins....Now YOU TOO can create your own toned coins! The seller swears that if you use his product it's still natural toning, it just "speeds up the process." http://cgi.ebay.com/Coin-Toner-Use-...62?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item45f8665e22 So CoinTalkers; is this considered artificial or natural toning?
Artificial. Anything that you do yourself to tone a coin is artificial. Natural toning comes when the coin tones by itself. I would rather wait 10 years for a coin to tone than put chemicals from a person on e bay on my coin to give it unattractive toning.
Garage juice like all the others. I'm sure it's sulfur in oil or detergent. If anyone wants to send me some, I'll do an analysis in the lab on it. The last stuff I looked at called "Tantastic" was Simple Green, sulfur (6 times more than Dellars) and specs of dirt (lol)....it even smelled good. ROFL
