Are these Eagle 2x2 pages archival safe? Look Here It says they are "PVC-free rigid vinyl", I have a bunch of coins in Airtite coin holders that I want to put in pages in a binder.
They are free of PVC, but these pages won't stand up to continual use. As a matter of fact, just the weight of 20 coins in AirTites placed in a notebook and standing upright on a shelf is enough to cause the 3-ring binder holes to crack. Even the plastic strips that hold each AirTite in place can crack, making those slots useless unless you don't mind using tape to hold everything together. I used to use them for coins and casino chips in AirTites, and I ended up trashing all of them. These pages aren't exactly cheap, so in my opinion, you'd be wasting your money. Chris
There is a much cheaper solution seen in the link below. I started using the 2x2 storage boxes for my casino chips in AirTites. Each box holds 37 AirTites, almost double the capacity of one Eagle page. I just checked Eagle's site. Three pages holding 60 AirTites cost $11.85. You can get 10 of the storage boxes for $12.50, and they will hold 370 AirTites. Chris
Oh that's good, vinyl free vinyl. I think what they mean is plasticizer free vinyl. Of course the problem is when you leave the plasticizer out of vinyl it become brittle.
