Am I testing for DMPL correctly?

    Just out of curiosity, how exactly do graders verify a coin is DMPL. I put my coin under a 60 watt lamp, place it on a ruler, and hold up a paper with 12 size font 6 inches away. If I can read in the coin the writing without trouble, I consider it DMPL. Is this correct?

    I cannot say whether it is the standard by which TPG's determine DMPL; I don't own enough slabbed DMPL's to form an opinion.
