I am such a novice, does anyone have any suggestions what I might call this, is it mint error and man made. Maby it is impossible to tell from picture? It was in pocket change.

Your photo is fairly small (and upsidedown) but it looks like a hunk has been cut out of the coin.

will rescan both sides and try to get bigger pictures. I appreciate your coments. I am new at coin errors and find it is a challenge to address all possibilities.
