I found a weird raised mark on this dime. At first I actually thought it was an O mintmark, but in the wrong place. But then I realized it had the same raised mark on the reverse. But it doesn't like go through or anything, there isn't a hole there at all.
Just wondering what would have caused it? Thanks.

    ?? Anyone =(

It's in a cardboard coin holder, would it be better to take a pic of it not in it?

It was holed, from the look of it, to put on a necklace at one time.

If you can't see through it, my guess is someone did a crude repair job on the hole.

From me looking at it in person, I think it'd be way too small of a "hole" to put on a necklace. I mean it's hard to say I guess, but I think if it were, there'd actually be a hole, or it'd atleast be bigger I'd say?? Because it's smaller than the 0 in 1907. But I dunno, my boyfriend thought it was weird and said to post it. I honestly thought it was an O mintmark in the wrong place or something, when I first saw it. But what threw me off was the reverse side has the same mark, only not as prominent, but it is raised on both sides.

Well, it's certainly post-mint damage, so it drops the value of the coin to basically melt... maybe a bit more cause it's a Barber.

It's obviously a drilled and repaired hole. Pretty common on coins from that time.
