Well i'm looking to buy a simple $5 bill just to have it and be more of a conversation starter and i came across this one http://cgi.ebay.com/1929-Mellon-Nat...365?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f06ff58d5 First off is it real? And what would be the max you would bid for it? Or if you think i should bid on something else please post away i'm looking to waist nothing more than 10-15$.
wth? first sentence in his description AND A FEW SENTENCES LATER LOL! derekg i dont think you can lose on this one. 1929 $20 Mellon National Bank Of Pittsburgh Pennsylania. RETURNS: A full refunded will be given only if the item is incorrectly listed.
Looking past the error in the listing... I would say you would be very lucky to find any 1929 national currency note in the $10-15 range (that isn't missing part of the bill). This particular bill has a value of $35 in the latest Kelly National Currency book in fine condition, this note is much nicer then that and will likely end up higher then that price. From the picture the bill seems extremely crisp, I don't see many National currency bills like that.
About a year or so ago that same bill was selling for around 32 to 50 dollars. I guess ebay bidding gets into people and they have to have it for any price. Sorry not me. Dean 295
