thanks, i have another 1945 with some damage on the heads side, and a 1944, which is pretty close in condition to this one
i also have the 1943 tombec issue as well as the CU, yours is a nice coin about the same as mine european XF.
hope you like the coin mark, it needs an acetone dip to remove the crap but it is a really nice coin.
Yes, the morse code is quite a neat feature, I thought that was very interesting when I learned of it when I first started collecting Canadian coins. I really like the design too. moneyer12: Very nice of you to send a coin to a fellow collector who doesn't have an example. Good man. Mark14: Beautiful Victory nickel, I like it. I think it is a bit nicer than my example.... Here is my 1945 Victory nickel, and I also included a shot of my 1943 tombac one, which is in worse shape. Both of mine were .25cent bin buys at a local coin shop in Tucson, Arizona though, years back.
very nice 1945, it looks better than mine but you really cant tell unless its in hand because they are so close and i know, i hope that when i can get a job and a car that i can help out younger collecters
Yeah, I suppose they look about the same grade, hard to tell though like you said. Well, having a job definitely helps, heh. A car doesn't hurt either.... I'm sure you will help out the young and wanting collectors out there when you get the chance to. I have been trying to think up cool or interesting contest ideas so I can share some of my world coins with collectors who don't have any examples in their collection, or maybe don't have the means to get them. I only ever held one contest however, very fun though. The winner got a Swiss WWII era silver half franc and a French 1917 or 1918 silver half franc.... and I think I ended up throwing in some other silver coins for him..... I don't recall exactly what...
i actually have a 1947 swiss half franc in my collection, and 2 1970 2 francs, one year earlier and i would have a bunch more silver hah
