I just noticed the seal circle thing on 1 dollar bills on the left half in the middle that says where the bill was made. But I'm only twelve. K it's called a Federal Reserve Bank Seal but whatever.
Relax.....not long ago on another thread, some paper money collectors just realized the same thing.:smile
Well, correct me if I'm mistaken, but I always thought that the bills were printed by the BEP in Washington DC, and then shipped to their respected Federal Reserve Bank. I'm probably wrong though
Correct. I missed the part where the OP said "the bill was made." The currency is made by the BEP and is distributed by the 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
Fort Worth, if I'm not mistaken, designated by the letters FW on the lower right obverse side of 1- and 5-dollar bills, and on the right side of Hamilton's head on the $10
Ya'll are correct. The BEP has facilities in both Washington D.C., and in Fort Worth Texas, where the Federal Reserve Seals are applied, and then distributed to one of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts, (1-12/A-L), and then distributed to the banks in their region. Some are even exported to foriegn countries.
The FED no longer distributes notes according to their listed bank of issue, but rather sends notes on hand to where they're needed.
Until we learn more, we were all idiots in collecting. I have collected much longer than you have been alive and I am still an idiot occasionally - with coins, not banknotes.
