1788 Massachusetts Commonwealth coin found in backyard!!

Hey guys. I'm 12 and am starting my coin collection. I was raking the other day and I found this in my backyard. Its a pretty cool coin.

That is an amazing find. I would rent one of those Metal detectors and go over your property completely. Are you familiar with your towns history ? That would be a great stroll into history for you .

 

Thanks! I live in boston.......very snowy now but in spring i will. I did research and it turn out my property used to be a stagecoach station! wow! Mabye i will find more coins.

i am also waiting for spring time to go once over my property with my metal detector, but there is so much snow on the ground in RI that i cant do anything, and we have found an indian arrow head so im thinking i can find some coins

im right near the coast so we havent been getting blasted like you guys have, but still im hoping that i can find some silver coinage in my yard
