1963 D Nickle...

    I've recently gone through my late father's possessions and I came across a bag with some old and foreign coins. In one of them was a nickle in a cardboard holder that said 1963 D Misprint. What would I need to look for that would show the misprint and where could I find out what the possible value would be?

    Can you take a picture of it and post it here? That would help unless you want a bunch of guesses...

    ok I will try to scan in it...I will try to clean it off some ...not super clean but will do what I can

    ok I didnt really think a little water and a paper towel would be an issue but ok you guys know what you are talking about :) Most I know about coins is spending them...here are pictures front and back I scanned in...don't know how well you can see anything but thanks for any help IMG_0001.jpg IMG_0003.jpg

    Looks normal unless it has a rotated die.

    OK, I may have it. Possibly an overpolished obv die. Looks like broken nose at the bridge and the head is nearly separated from the collar. Ponytail is weak and the void in the hair above it is larger than normal.

    could be a re punched date or mint mark
    1963-D nickles have a few known Die Variety's.
