Since we are suppose to get slammed later in the Big D and I am off I have been catching up on looking at my coins. Just started looking for some VAM's on my Morgan dollars. Nothing to speak of VAM wise. Did find this wicked die crack that goes around the outside of the whole reverse. It's a 1899-O PCGS MS64.

Nice die crack, they're pretty common for this date. Just going by the cracks, it looks like it could be 1899-O VAM-37 It's noted that the die cracks were considered too thin to list by Leroy Van Allen.

I wonder if mine is like that too.

    But, mine is not PCGS.

    I should share photos.

Die cracks happen at minting and are not exclusive to the coin being slabbed by one TPG over another.

    yes, I know that. thanks.

I am merely stating that mine might not be worth as much as the PCGS slabbed one.

but, I won't know unless I have it checked out by some dealers.

They also don't add value to the coin as they are a regular occurrence.
