    I purchased this 1908-D Barber Quarter thinking it would grade EF. but now I am not so sure after scanning the coin, which brings out ALL it's faults. The coin looks pretty good in hand. What would be your opinion on grade ?

    Based on the scan I wouldn't go higher than 25, but then again I can be tough, (not Doug tough, but still...)

    Being nicer in hand like you say it could be a case of the photo not doing it justice. I think what could be key is if any weakness is strike instead of wear, or if the photo show more wear than in hand.

    Apparently you are, because I could go no higher than VF25 myself ;)
