Aloha. I am stoked. Just got back from a coin show. Here are my pickups, you can guess the grades if you like, I'll post them later. I'm too speechless......!!! 1910 MATTE PROOF LINCOLN CENT!!!!!! God, I am so happy!!! I hope you enjoy it, plus my 1907 Indian cent I purchased, it was a nice coin so I went ahead and snagged that. I am so speechless with the 1910.....this coin is stunning in hand. This coin was a huge purchase but well worth it.
I saw several other examples but this one caught my eye the most. Plus the luxury of examining a 1916-D Mercury dime in PCGS MS-64 FB, seller was asking $32,000. It was the ultimate show....
*whistles* wow, those are some beautiful coins! I sure wish I had the disposable income to get myself something like that. one day, I'll treat myself at a coin show
Just for comparison..... here's a couple of links with matte proof images: http://www.cointalk.com/t98069/ http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=30&threadid=733758&STARTPAGE=2
Went to the PCGS cert. verification, came up. It's a genuine proof 64 RB. I have all the proof I need, but mahalo for the help. I wouldn't spend this kind of money on a raw piece. I don't believe that's a finger print, all though it looks like one.
I too question the authentication service grade of this coin as a " Matte Proof " . I mean I look bad in photo's too , but this is to unbelievable . That IHC is a beauty .
Believe it or not coinman0456, but I picked that Indian up for $75. While the PCGS price guide sets it at $140, its a PCGS OGH MS-64 RB. Sorry guys, the pictures didn't turn out the greatest, I can work on snapping a few extra shots. But pictures don't do justice, it's a very nice piece in hand.
congrats! It sounds like you've are happy with your purchases! I have always wanted a MPL and a Proof IHC. I'd also like to find a satin proof buffalo, but that's all probably a pipe dream.
Minenoodle, the Indian isn't a proof, its a MS-64 RB, very nice coin for $75. All though a Proof IHC is up there on my list. Still highly considering one. But I'm having a hard time deciding over the ST Gaudens Double Eagle, Proof Liberty Nickel, or a Proof IHC. But at the moment, I'm way too happy with this MPL to be thinking about my next big purchase.
Congratulations on your new MPL. Those are great coins. In your sig line I noticed you say hopefully PF64 BN on your 1913. Are you having it regraded?
Robec, the 1913 had pvc on it, I sent it to NCS to have it treated, I think it has a great chance of getting a 64. The 1913, despite the pvc, is a really nice coin. Mahalo USS656, it was a excellent day, I had a blast looking at the high end coins, I saw maybe 20+ examples of the 1909-S VDB, one in MS-65 RB for $4500. Plus several examples of the 1916-D Mercury dime, mostly in the G-VG-F range. But after seeing one in a PCGS MS-64 FB slab, that was very nice. I guess the price was around the $15,000 area, but I wasn't even close! The seller wanted $32,000 for it! But it was nice to look at. Saw a ton of gold coins, lots of choices between Double Eagles, Eagles, Half Eagles, Quarter Eagles, and alot of foreign gold coins. There was alot of money at this show. I was glad I found MPL's that I could purchase in person instead of ordering.
