What 2011 Mint issues are you particularly looking forward to?

I know I have to have one of the Medal Of Honor $5 coins - because of the reverse.
I'm not too happy about the high price, but I really do like the liberty reverse on that coin.

I really wasn't interested in anything until Green18 posted his clad proof set. I ran over to the mint the next day and picked it up. I love the look of the new quarters, now I'm looking forward to the silver proof set.

I'm not happy with the rising prices of most of the mint products. I know the cost of some metals have gone up and they're passing that along to us but some of the price change seem like gouging compared to the cost of even just last year. That being said. I'm looking forward to the MOH and the Army commemoratives. I'll also be buying the proof, silver proof, & unc sets and the proof AE as long as they release one :)

If my math is correct, there's about a 35% premium on the gold commemoratives at today's spot. That's a lot.

I wasn't planning on buying any mint sets this year either. But, I may have to pick-up the Unc Mint Set - with all of these single-year issues.
I don't like the look of the clad proofs. They've very grainy, almost "granular"(?)
Will have to wait to see how the Unc set coins look.

Presidential Year of the Beard is kind of cool though...

I would really like an Army unc dollar to add to Dad's Vietnam unc dollar display...
Only wish he was here to see it.

I no longer collect anything dated after 1964.
And many of the items I already owned dated after that have been sold off.

I kind of slacken off after 1969 for regular circulation coins. Although I will collect them, I usually won't pay a premium for them.

They did a nice job with this brochure. Nicest presentation of the coin designs so far.
    I might be interested now.
Will likely wait to see images once people start getting them in hand.

IMO....the mint is getting worse every year....this is the first year that I will not buy anything!!

That is a shame. Personally , I think there is some truly high potential for some Modern Coin issues , and commemorative issues . However , I can understand your dis-interest , if you have no one to pass them onto who would have an appreciation for them . I gave up on being overly concerned about that aspect of my collecting habits . I buy for me , and because I have an interest in the particular issue . Beyond that, there are no expectations of realizing a profit 10 or 20 years down the road , because I will only be an " Epitath" at that point.

My silver proof sets arrived today and I'm quite satisfied with their quality. I'll go with the commems too, however, the gold ones will be tough. Might only be able to get the uncirc's instead of both proof and uncirc.........

I'm still waiting on the mint to ship mine. Can't hardly wait to get them. The proof set was absolutely flawless and that was a first in a long time I could applaud the mint quality .

I was going to say one thing, the silver set but after seeing the platinum eagle it's definitely two things now. That is a fantastic design. It reminds me of Oscar Roty's Le Semeuse. Too bad our circulating coinage doesn't look half as good. A big thumbs up to the CCAC for that one. Let's hope it is approved.

  19. I will be getting the Silver Quarter Proof set and the ASE Proof.
