Can anyone confirm the year this note was issued? It has tears both top and bottom (one is almost 2cm) unfortunately and feels like parchment. I'm sure that would bring down the value a bit but the size is impressive and a nice design. I have a 1 dinar from the same era if anyone would like to see?
I'm no specialist in Libya, but the SCWPM says Pick 37b, 1972. Nice looking note. Yes, post the other if you have a scan. Dave
Thanks for the info. I found a quarter dinar too so here are the other pics. Any more info on dates would be appreciated. I was planning to sell my collection, would these be likely to fetch more if sold as a set?
Interesting notes. Those are P33b (1/4 dinar) and P35b (1 dinar), also 1972 issues. As far as selling them, the biggest issue will be that they've been rode hard and put away wet (that's one of the IBNS grades ). In UNC they would be quite pricey, but in this shape, I don't know. I think I would sell them as a set, simply to minimize the significance of shipping. Dave
Thanks for the info. Banknotes.com has the 10 dinars in VF condition for $50. I saw one in similar nick to mine fetch £3/$5 ish on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Libya-P37b-10-Dinar-1972-/120675403681?pt=UK_Coins_Banknotes_GL&hash=item1c18d087a1 Were there other denominations?
Hi Oli, Cool notes! Here is a link to a complete set. http://cgi.ebay.com/LIBYA-1972-SET-...0382455284?pt=Paper_Money&hash=item563c83c1f4 I think you are probably looking at about $5 to $7 for each. They are a little rough as Dave mentioned. Look forward to seeing more! Thanks for sharing. Best Regards ~ Darryl
