1996-S kennedy half

    Are they 90% silver?

    In 1996 the San Francisco proof Kennedy's were made in both clad and silver. So it is possible that a 1996-S is silver, however, it is not guaranteed.

    so if the reeding is copper in color it is clad?

    How did you get this coin? Did you find it roll searching.

    bought it at service station. I have collected a large number of silver coins from gas stations and such.

    Absolutely!

    The 90% Silver coins from the Silver Proof sets have no indication of being clad (which they are NOT).
