1970-s small or large date?

    From the photos they all appear to be large date. A better picture would help but from what I can see the sevens look like they are below both the nine and the zero. This is always what I have used. The link Shoewrecky provide is super nice and gives other methods that I had never used but will in the future.

    The one in the upper right may be a small date.
    Looks like it to me, but hard to tell on that pic.

    99% sure you have one small and the rest large.

    I go by how short the "vertical" portion of the '7' is and how that short vertical makes the 'S' appear to be far away from the bottom of the '7'.

    You pretty much MUST have a known large date right there with a small date to pick it out for sure.

    Hello..The pennies are to my eye all large date. The '7' on the small date is the same height as the '1' and the '9'. The loop of the '9' points toward the '7' on the small date. For information on this and an excellent reference point I use http://lincolncentresource.com.

    I think all large dates, the top of the 7 in a small date is level with the top of the 9.
