1801 Fake or New Variety?

    The surface looks funky to my eyes, as if it has no age. I'm no expert on such things, but my gut says to avoid this one.

    Date is a bit crude for recent Chinese work, but I agree this coin is not real.

    Agree with a pretty bad fake. Looks like either an apprentice or retouched badly from a transfer die. Not sure it helps, but Chinese fakes nowadays are much better than this example.
