Went through my dad's coins

    He has a box of old wheaties, jeffson nickels, and buffalos. Probably a 25-30 lb container of them, mostly wheaties. He said I could take whatever I wanted and said that he already got the good ones out and in 2x2's.

    I'm about 99.99% sure it's a 1914-D.

    I agree with you. You can see the signs of a 4 as the last digit.

    I've had decent luck looking through "dateless" nickels. A lot if times a better date is visible that my young eyes can see, but the dealer cannot.

    I told him and he looked at it and said, "I can't see that. You can have it." Also found a 50% 1968 Canadian Quarter, but he wasn't so kind with letting me take that. :).
