2005 Dime with extra long leaf on back! Error???

    I tried to get the best pics that I could. To the right of the torch, there is the set of three leaves, and on the right leaf there is an extra curvy bud on the top making a total of five leaf buds.????

    Too small a pic to tell. Can you crop the pic just to show the dime (without any background) and keep it at maximum resolution so it shows up at this size?

    Although the photos are somewhat limiting in the detail, it appears to be die deterioration damage at the normal end of the leaf, which led to the longer appearance. Remember that the raised details are caused by depression in the die, so a normal leaf would have a recessed image, and if the edge of the image was worn or chipped off after excessive use, it would produce an extra raised portion on the coin. More detailed photos might show something else, but this would be the most common ( if I see what you are referring to :)
