Was wondering if anyone seen a silver penny. Got it from the corner store one day. Noticed it was silver with edges like a nickel? Also a few other coins i know nothing about there value if any? Any help would be appreciated...

I have two Canadian pennies just like that, except that they're both dated 1987. They weigh about 2.65 grams each, as opposed to 2.5 grams for the regular 1987 cents. I was hoping that they might be made of an experimental alloy, but it seems like they're just the product of some chemistry class experiment.
