Copper Nickel???? Need some feedback Please

    I found this 2005 nickel and it looks copper, has anyone seen this before??

    Heavy oxidation would be my guess. Not to out rule wrong planchet, but rust would be my guess.

    The coin has some dents on it like normal coins and its the same color where its been dented

    Looks like the ones I dig out of the ground..... I would agree with environmental damage.

    Yes, it is copper-nickel. 75% copper / 25% nickel.

    The coin looks discolored. It may be a dug coin or, at a minimum, the coin may have lain on the ground for a while.

    I have seen one or two colored like that. My thought was that it was laying outside for a period of time, then found....just my guess.
