    In my opinion the S is the hardest. I've had 4 of the D's so far, and only 1 really sharp S. I've found that there are atleast 2 different dies for the S, and atleast 2 for the D. On the D mint I usually look for the diecrack, but I've found 2 so far that didn't have the "Bill Fivaz" diecrack. Are you a big buffalo nickel collector?? I've been collecting coins for over 25 years. I used to collect everything, but I've found it's a lot easier to specialize in one type. And the "Buffalo" series has enough varieties to keep it interesting.

    Thanks for bringing this post back to life. I've actually had one of the D mint coins with another die crack a little further down the feather. I guess this happened later on in the die's life.
